I’m most passionate about: POPULAR CULTURE, HISTORY/SOCIAL HISTORY, POLITICS & MUSIC, and am an authority on various aspects within these subjects.
I have considerable storytelling abilities. I create engaging, very watchable narratives that have a big emotional impact. I was nominated for ‘Best Documentary’ at the Irish Film & Television Awards (IFTA’s) (IFTA’s).
I have a sharp editorial eye as well as a strong visual imagination, the latter helping me to win the FOCAL International Award. A former features journalist (SEE JOURNALISM PAGE), I also excel at writing scripts.
What originally inspired me to enter this world were classic documentaries like the BBC’s UNDER THE SUN series; PBS’s civil rights opus EYES ON THE PRIZE; the tale of two teenage aspiring basketball players in HOOP DREAMS; the BBC’s iconic ARENA series; James Marsh’s very first film, TROUBLE MAN: THE LAST YEARS OF MARVIN GAYE.
I’ve directed many foreign shoots & reconstructions as well as drone, car-rig & green screen studio shoots.
